The Camp

Protectors set up a camp on Leith Hill to physically protect the land while we raise awareness of the situation. The first camp which was on the intended drill site was evicted in June 2017 after 8 months of resistance. A new camp has been set up across the road from the site entrance, this is currently monitoring the site, campaigning for suppliers to withdraw from the project and raising public awareness. The protectors are living there full time and rely on donations from the community to keep the camp going. If you would like to donate any of the following it would be gratefully received:

  • Pallets and building timber
  • Logs
  • Tea lights
  • Screws, nails, cable ties (that sort of thing for literally keeping the camp together)
  • Warm thick socks
  • Basic groceries like milk, coffee and veg

If you would like to visit the camp, you can find it on cold harbour lane, just downhill from Coldharbour village RH5 6HB. See image below.
